Tobiah Orin Moshier:

Born the son of two roaming, tree planting “Hoedads,” the Pacific Northwest is where I have always called home. Shortly after days of life in a yurt and a converted bus, I was schooled and raised predominantly, in Eugene, Oregon.

I can still smell the mountains of Missoula, Montana, where I can vividly see my mother

harvesting large morels in units of Douglas fir. However, professionally, fungi first entered my spectrum through a career of culinary endeavors. I have spent 15 years in the restaurant industry, where I have catered high-end fare, managed 2 restaurants, written numerous menus, and earned both the titles of Sous and Executive Chef.

I am a member of Cascade Mycological Society, and a senior forum contributor. I am as well a fisherman, a bow hunter, a forager, a gardener, and a photographer. I recently returned to school to study photojournalism, and currently published, is my online photographic journal, Hunts, Foray’s, and Light. More often than not though, I am human. I have two gorgeous daughters, a beautiful fiancé, two cats, and a bowl of goldfish.
